I spent 24 years in the US Army — including four combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. I graduated from West Point. I led teams under pressure, and retired as a Colonel.
And when I left active duty, I discovered something that took years to fully understand: the same patterns that kept me functional over the years were quietly running my life in ways that no longer served me.
